Jennifer Haniff-Thompson's First View of Morton, IL

Morton is quintessentially an All American Town! It is a snapshot of the clean living, friendly neighbors and hometown hospitality that you imagine when you lose yourself staring into a Norman Rockwell print. As you click through the ViewFinder of Morton’s Main Street you’ll see manicured lawns free of litter, family-owned restaurants filled with tables of smiling guests, sweet bakeries with a variety of pumpkin confections, and boutiques with unique locally crafted gifts and home décor.

Having grown up in Los Angeles and spending the last 15 years a stone’s throw from NYC, I’ve had access to amazing world cuisine, a dynamic arts scene, 3 International Airports ready and able to transport me anywhere in the world, any time of day, any day of the week! And YES! I love it! As many times as I’ve emerged from a tunnel or stepped of a train in the heart of cities like Manhattan, Paris or London, the undeniable thrill pulsing through my veins never gets old. With that said, the charm and calm that resides here in Morton sets your mind and heart at rest in a way that mere words cannot express adequately. Our everchanging world paces faster and faster with each new day, but here in Morton you are blanketed in an environment that says… Welcome. Relax. Breath Deeply. Slow Down and, most meaningfully to me, We are so glad that you are here.

There is something reassuring to the soul to know that there really are places like this that exist. Morton is a morsel of that first bite of pumpkin pie on a crisp autumn afternoon.
